Choosing a destination: five questions we ask before recommending a country
Applicants usually come with a country already in mind, often from a video or a friend's story. Sometimes that instinct is right. Often it is a fit for someone else's budget, grades and timeline. We work through five questions before we recommend anything.
1. What is the real total cost, not the tuition?
Tuition is the number people quote and the least useful one. Add living costs, insurance, the visa and medical fees, the flight, and the money you need in the bank to prove you can support yourself. A country that looks expensive on tuition can be cheaper overall than one with low tuition and high living costs. Budget for the whole year, not the first month.
2. Which intake can you realistically hit?
Every destination runs its own admission calendar, and the paperwork has lead time. If your documents are not ready, the next intake is the honest target. Chasing an intake you cannot prepare for produces refusals, not speed.
3. Will the qualification be recognised where you plan to work?
A degree is only worth what the next step recognises. Before committing, we check the institution and the program against how the qualification is treated in the Philippines and in the country where you intend to work.
4. What does the visa actually allow while you study?
Study permissions and work permissions are different things, and countries differ on what a student visa permits and on what happens after graduation. Know the rules before you build a budget that assumes part-time earnings.
5. Can you live in that language and that climate?
The most common reason a placement fails is not the visa. It is a student arriving somewhere they cannot function: no language, no community, no tolerance for a dark winter. If you have never left the Philippines, say so and let that shape the recommendation.
Where we place
Our partner schools sit in eleven destinations we actively support. In Europe: Czech Republic, Malta, Spain, Hungary, Poland, Latvia, Germany and Italy. In Oceania: Australia and New Zealand. In North America: Canada.
Not every destination suits every profile, and we run live webinars for the ones we push hardest so you hear the requirements first-hand rather than second-hand.
Bring us your budget and your target date. The country is a conclusion, not a starting point.
